Third times a Charm {and breaking my own rule}
Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 6:25AM I am not one to normally post images from a current magazine issue, just in case someone had yet to see it. Spoilers drive me a bit bonkers. I am hoping that with the long weekend everyone already had a chance to look over the July/August issue of House Beautiful. I was ecstatic when Julie emailed me asking if I had yet to see the home that I have not only shown once, but twice already. This time with gorgeous photos, taken by Simon Watson, the home takes on a whole new life...

I always new a designer or architect had to of owned this home. I was correct and Bill Ingram took a shabby home in a FABULOUS location and revamped it into something new. I love that he uses wire hangers and it looks good! He must have all his clothes done at the dry cleaners. The home is small with only 1400 square feet. The article is a must read. I absolutely adore this home. Wonder if a family of four could cram in happily here. It is still for sale for $569,000.
Here is the product list by House Beautiful if anything peaks your interest.

This house is so gorgeous! What a surprise to see it in House Beautiful!
Paula, I was looking at the wire hangers too. I also love the shower hardware and the segue it gives to outdoor living. love it all
love that barely-noticeable kitchen. and, of course, the gray interior doors. they seem to work even in this small of a space.
you have a good eye, paula. do you suspect the magazine picked up the feature after seeing it on your blog? I often wonder how much content and how many ideas go into print after magazine assistants review what's going on in the blog world. just a thought....donna
Stunning. I actually don't get House Beautiful anymore so this was nice treat. Absolutely gorgeous.
This home has been gorgeous every time you've featured it. Love seeing it fully furnished and styled for the HB photoshoot. I am really taken with the striped floors and the oak cabinets (not usually my favorite) in the almost hidden kitchen. Very nice.
Goodness gracious this is absolutely gorgeous!
love it, love it, love it! I just do not get tired of this one.
wow, incredibly gorgeous. I love how simple yet classic everything is, what a dream home!
I cannot tell you how many times I have looked at this article since I got the magazine. I too almost posted the photos on my blog, but was too lazy to scan them! Ha! I love everthing about this home.
I did see this and LOVED it! I actually prefer small places, but it's a little more challenging with kids. Does it have a basement? If it had a basement I could totally embrace this even with two kids. My husband and I talk about this all the time. There's a few years, somewhere around toddlers to around the start of middle school that makes everyone think they need a big house. We were no exception, but then as our kids got older we realized it's really only about 7, 8 or maybe 9 years that you "need" a big house. Our kids are 16 and 12 and in CA we no longer have a basement, but our third car garage is sort of a kid space hang out.
I almost missed the wire hangers until I read what you said...yes a clear indication that he takes everything out. What a luxury that would be?! So does that mean the 1,400 sq ft does not include a laundry room? I'm just saying...
Hey, Paula! So glad you mentioned this. As I was reading my HB, I kept thinking how familiar this little house was. The picture of the bathroom vanity was definitely one that I remembered from your blog feature. Who can forget a vanity like that? The home is just lovely, isn't it? I'm pretty sure I would need a bit more kitchen space, but other than that I would truely love to live in such a small cozy house!
Isn't restrained beauty appealing? And in restrained spaces ... so, so refreshing.
I'm so glad you posted it, as a blogging friend mentioned it, but I hadn't seen it yet.
Thanks!

Oh yes, this is perfection in my book...exactly where I'd like to spend my Summers!!
Hi Paula, imagine my surprise when I swooned over and then pinned the first two images on Pinterest and decided to investigate from whence the came. Two Ellie. And there you were, the author of Mrs. French. Was it you or Laura I was conversing with all this time?
Glad, so glad, to have discovered your blog as I know you have exquisite taste.

I've had this house saved on my dashboard ever since I found it here. I can't get enough of it!
This one was worth a spoiler :) You spotted those great bones long ago.
I bet we know many of the same people--we have friends at Hillsong, too.
We're off to Seagrove in less than 2 weeks...oh, your pictures of Rosemary want us there, now!
Julie
I absolutely loving this and I can see others too.
