Why Oh Why? {the real estate hunt}

It seems during our new home search I gravitate towards houses that we could NEVER afford. All the homes I look at in the price range that we are willing to pay are either gorgeous but smaller than our already small home, or just good enough but at the top of our budget with much needed work that would send the price out of our reach. With our next buy I want to be smart. I hope it can be a place where my kiddos can grow up, won't put a strain on us financially, and is beautiful. Of course I realize I can make anything into our so called dream house, but the Mr. isn't one for major renovation and we have price restraints. I am beginning to think our search may take longer than I expected and possibly "that" house simply doesn't exist. In that case I may just do a few more things to this house and stay put. Nothing huge, but wall to wall seagrass in our bedroom is at the top of my list. Oh, and isn't this house spectacular? A dream really. Oh, and by no means am I looking at something this grand. I am realistic. Ha. I would however like to visit someone here for tea though. If you happen to be in the market for a home that is $1,579,000 then this one can't be any more perfect.
*As always if you are interested in this home I will be more than happy to connect you with the listing agent.

Hi! I was so looking forward to our date for several reasons, one was to hear about the house hunt. I am not back in action yet but as soon as I am I want to get together. Maybe late next week or the following? Miss you friend!
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the floors and the beams. Y'all will find a house you love! Just be patient! :)
If I buy the kitchen, will that help?? Wowzers, that's a beauty!
The right house will come along...
Oh my! This house is beautiful! I'm sure you will find the perfect house! There are so many great ones in Birmingham, hopefully the perfect one will come along for you guys!
Are these on Cahaba Rd just north of the zoo? My church used to be on that land, so it is fun to see what is there now. thanks!
wow, what an amazing home. yes, you have hit the nail on the head with the real estate frustration (even in this "buyers market"). so i've got my fingers crossed for next year after we have baby no. 2.
What a beautiful home! It's funny,when I saw the listing price for such a glorious house, I thought WHAT A STEAL. I guess that's what living in the DC area does to perception on housing prices!
It is fun to look and daydream!!
Oh, it's gorgeous! Always fun to dream.
this house is stunning! dreaming is good...
You always post the most amazing houses for sale in your area. We are also thinking about moving and whenever we look for houses for sale in our new location it is seriously depressing. I can not believe what is out there! But you always find beautiful homes - maybe we need to think about moving to Birmingham :) I am sure you will find the right one eventually and I can't wait to see what you do with it!
P.S. We installed wall-to-wall seagrass in our house and we LOVE it!

I am building a house next door to this one! It is fabulous. It was a Southern Accents Idea House a few years ago.
the work of the talented Bill Ingram...I love this house (but it's in a kind of weird location!)
Paula you need to quit torturing yourself and put some price parameters on your searches :) Ha.
