Cleansing

Without going into too much detail, since July of last year I haven't felt well and I have been in constant pain in my lung/stomach area. This is in no means to throw myself a pity party, but just so you know where I am coming from. I have been on a good rotations of medications and have seen a variety of dr's to try to figure out what is causing the problem. Lo and behold I finally was sent to see an allergist and I believe they will be an answer to prayer. It has only been a few days since I began a new round of medications, but I do feel a slight change. I am hoping it really does continue to improve. To be honest I am just tired and have been growing weary. Some days are better than others, but either way daily tasks are just harder than they should be. Oh, and my skin has been just awful. Zit city really. All this to say I am cleansing once again. I did it about a year ago and that is when I stopped eating gluten for good and it was and still does make the world of difference. This time around I am just doing a three day juice cleanse. I am following tips from lacylike. She set out an easy plan and I bought a GE juicer from Walmart, but this one looks very similar for the same price. I began yesterday and am LOVING it so far. I may make this little cleanse a monthly endeavor or possibly this 3 day cleanse may turn intol a five dayer. I will also be trying out a few of Lisa's juicing tips and recipes. Do you cleanse or juice? Would love to hear your tidbits!

Have you ruled out a gluten intolerance?
Talk to your doctor & get tested for Celiacs. If you're negative for Celiacs, you could still have a gluten intolerance, try going gluten free for a week or so. It's worth a shot!
Hope you feel better soon!
Becky, Paula stated in the post she already gave up gluten for good.
I think this is awesome! I read the LacyLike article and I am totally doing this! My stomach has been weird ever since I started having children. I started having heartburn like crazy even though don't eat a lot of crap and I am not overweight. My symptoms were jaw & neck pain, that's not what I expect when I think of heart burn so it took forever to find out what the heck it was.
I will pray that you get your answer soon!
sorry to leave a link...but here was my cleanse experience. Loved it.

oops, my bad!
i feel so terrible for you! Seriously I have been dealing with stomach issues for 3 years! Drs told me it was acid reflux and IBS. I have had major bowel issues...(sorry TMI, I know!) its just uncomfortable. I have to say, that I have been keeping a food/wellness diary and trying to find my own common thread and how I feel on certain days. I record and monitor everything, how I slept and everyting I consume. I became sensitive to dairy products and now I know how to deal with it. I have figured out that since I get up super early I need to put something on my stomach right away (even if it's something light) because if I wait to late to eat and feel those hunger pains, then thats how the stomach problems begin. I did try Prevacid and I have to say it really helped me feel better. Wishing the best for you!!
Paula, my husband and friend both struggled from IBS and both are now symptom free. We read "The China Study" and watched "forks over knives".. It's on Netflix if you have it, anyways we have all changed our diet and have only had amazing results. I would encourage you to check it out, I feel strongly that it may help your health issues. Wish you the best and hope you can find relief, health issues are not fun!
Just thinking another great resource is Dr McDougall, googling his name will bring you to his website, he follows the diet advice found in the references above...
Hello Paula,
My husband is an alternative health care doctor and is one of the top in the United State dealing in alternative methods. There are others spread through out the United States using the techniques he uses in our office. The Technique is called Nutrition Response Testing and it is extremely accurate. It enables the doctor to find out precisely what is going on with the body. It is often done by Chiropractors and other alternative minded professionals. I would highly recommend you find someone in your area that does this type of work. You may very well have allergies but there may be other underlying causes and this can help you unmask those causes and get to the root of your condition. If you need help finding someone in you area just let me know and I will assist you.
Sincerely,
Fran Jantz
Hey Paula - have you ever checked out greensmoothiegirl.com - lots of great information! I do a 21 day cleanse once a year through my chiropractor - its through a co called standard process. Don't know if you have a chiropractor but they help so much! I don't know if you or kellen know the Goodson's (husband Chris plays drums at greystone a lot) - Jenni is a chiropractor in greystone - Goodson health and wellness- she's great w kids too! In case your looking for one :)
Hi...
Just found your site through pinterest and happened to see the juice picture.... I am in my 'early' forties and have autoimmune disease issues...and although there isn't medical data regarding the effectiveness of juicing - prob because a pharmatuctical company isn't going to pay for a study about the effectiveness of raw veggies - skeptical gasp - I juice anywhere from 6-12 times a year depending on ow I am feeling...and it helps me sooooo much! There is data about the medicinal value of raw cabbage and how it actually can heal the lining of the digestive track.... Just wanted to share, as the the color of your juice looked very familiar... Good luck! :)

Have you read "Wheat Belly" by Dr William Davis? Very interesting and addresses wheat intolerance, celiac, diabetes, IBS and acid reflux. I found it at our local library. Best wishes and hope you are able to get your issues under control.
