Two Peas in a Pod

Some rooms & outfits just belong together. These two are meant for each other.

Room: Betsy Brown    Outfit: J. Crew

*Ellie's room is 95% done I would say. She got a mini reveal last night and she was over the moon excited. I do think it should be complete within the week though. At least I hope so. I am one tired mama. ha.

Adding in the Character

Over the weekend I came to realize the blog My Sweet Savannah did a extremely kind post on my living room. After taking a gander on her blog for a bit I came across her etsy shop which I instantly fell in love with. Not saying my home is all that, but most people who come in admire the pieces that bring age to my home in the sea of new, even though they may not even realize that is the case. I truly believe that is what gives my home character and personality. It's those very pieces that make my new design seem established and as if it had been there all along. At least that is what I tell myself. Ha. All this to simply say My Sweet Savannah has beauitful pieces that once mixed into a room design could quickly give a space age. Above are a few of my favorites from her etsy shop.

The Big Easy

We spent the weekend in New Orleans for an engagement shoot and we could not have had any more fun. Here are 16 little snippets that pretty much sums up our weekend. if you happen to follow me on Instagram then I apologize for the repeats. Little Ellie is home sick today and as you know fun new posts are the first to go. I must say New Orleans has quickly become one of favorite go to spots for weekend trips. The children remain wide eyed and at times I make myself quite the fool trying to distract their eyes from anything unsavory. You have to do what you have to do in order to keep the little ones pure. Ha. Besides the shoot we had no big plans. We ate, swam in the hotels pools, and took in basic sights. It was the lazy weekend we so desperately needed. Here is a little peek into the shoot from the Mr...

The Scout Guide - Birmingham {a soiree}

Have you all heard of the Scout Guide yet? I am sure you have. It began in Charlottesville with Susie Matheson and Christy Ford, whom you know I adore, having featured her here many times. Well, it finally came to Birmingham! Courtney Pigford and Chrissie Larkin are the Editors behind our very own Scout Guide and they did a brilliant job featuring the best of the best in Birmingham. I truly believe Birmingham is a hidden gem and is often overlooked, but no more!

Besides all the fabulous what is what and who is who that is featured, I absolutely adored the map by the amazing artist Annie Kammerer Butrus. Beautiful to say the least.

Last night me and a good friend had the pleasure of attending The Scout Guide book launch soiree. Here are a few iPhone photos of the gorgeous evening.

The evening also made me realize that I should carry around my good camera. Ha. The night was divine and was happy to be a part of it.

You can see more of the Scout Guide here.

Making Progress {Ellie's Room}

Step one of Ellie's bedroom make over is underway! I used LuLu DK Chant wallpaper in beige on one wall and painted the rest Sherwin Williams Dover White. keep in mind this pic was taken with my iPhone so the colors aren't all that accurate. I just wanted to share what I have been up to this week! Now I am just playing the waiting game on getting some items in. The latter items will have the color that Ellie loves so much. I am just thrilled the bright green walls are gone. Ha. There is still so much to do, but I do see an end in sight so I am quite the happy camper. If you happen to recall this post on Ellie's room from awhile back, it has changed a bit. I bought this sweet headboard, and the bedding from the other post, but Ellie decided she rather keep her big bed. Needless to say I will be selling the other items since they are meant for a twin bed that we won't be using. I will also have some lamps that I no longer have a home for so if you are interested you could have the basics for a great little girls room if you are a local.
